The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball top five has looked different each week so far this season. The top five for week 16 features Indiana, Miami, Gonzaga, Michigan State and Florida; in that order. Both Duke and Michigan dropped from the top five. They were replaced by Michigan State and Florida. For the week, the top five went 3-2.

In their last game of week 16, No. 1 ranked Indiana Hoosiers defeated No. 4 ranked Michigan State Spartans 72-68. The separation in this tight contest boiled down to an outstanding performance by junior guard Victor Oladipo who led his team with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals. Freshman guard Gary Harris led the Spartans with 19 points.

Both the Florida Gators and the Gonzaga Bulldogs won their games against nonranked teams. The Gators defeated the Arizona Razorbacks who could only muster 54 points compared to 71 put up by Florida. Senior guard Mike Rosario led the Gators in scoring with 15 points.

Sophomore guard Kevin Pangos led Gonzaga with 18 points in an 81-50 win over the San Diego Toreros. Senior forward Chris Manresa led San Diego with 19 points.

In what may be the biggest upset of the year, No. 2 Miami Hurricanes were blown out by the Wake Forest Demon Deacons by a score of 80-65. Only one of the Hurricanes four losses came from a ranked team.

The rest of the NCAA top 10 for week 16: Duke, Michigan, Syracuse, Kansas and Louisville.
